Terms of use
Last updated: 22/02/2026
These terms of use ("Terms") govern the use of The Playground platform, published by The Spark SASU.
Acceptance of Terms
By using The Playground, you accept these Terms in their entirety. If you do not accept these conditions, please do not use the service.
Service description
The Playground is a free platform for creating communities and organizing Events. The service is accessible via the web and is provided "as is".
User account
Access to the service requires creating an account via email (magic link) or via an OAuth provider (Google, GitHub). You are responsible for the confidentiality of your account and all activity that occurs under it.
User content
You are solely responsible for content you publish on The Playground (Community descriptions, Event descriptions, comments). Any unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate content is prohibited and may be removed without notice.
Host responsibilities
As a Host, you are responsible for the accuracy of information related to your Events (location, date, description). You agree to comply with all applicable laws regarding event organization.
Member responsibilities
As a Member, you agree to respect the rules of each community and Event you participate in. Joining an Event constitutes a commitment to attend.
Pricing
The Playground is entirely free to use. No commission is charged by the platform. For paid Events, only Stripe transaction fees (approximately 2.9% + $0.30) apply and are borne by the Host.
Payments and transactions
The Playground acts as a technical intermediary via Stripe Connect. The platform facilitates the transaction between the Host and the Member but is not a party to the sale. Payment data is processed exclusively by Stripe and is never stored by The Playground. The refund policy is set by each Host when creating the event: either refundable (full refund on cancellation) or non-refundable. If an event is cancelled by the Host, a full refund is always issued regardless of the refund policy. In case of dispute, the Member should contact the Host. As a last resort, a chargeback can be filed with their bank.
Limitation of liability
The Spark SASU shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from the use of the service, including but not limited to service interruption, data loss or disputes between Hosts and Members.
Modification of Terms
The Spark SASU reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of changes by email or notification on the platform. Continued use of the service after modification constitutes acceptance of the new conditions.
Applicable law
These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the competent courts of Paris shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
